We have just heard that Norfolk Community Foundation has some funding available to registered charities and Parish Councils.

You can get details and application forms at https://www.norfolkfoundation.com/funding-support/grants/groups/covid-19-community-response-fund/

Extract from web-site:

The Covid-19 Community Response Fund has been created to support vital community projects as they respond to exceptional challenges over the coming months. For those charitable groups well placed to take action, this additional funding aims to help them to take steps to provide the much needed care and support for our vulnerable people.

Funding available

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to support community action to help vulnerable people affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.  We will aim to make funding decisions as quickly as possible on a rolling basis while the fund is open.  All grants will be paid by BACS so please help us to process grants without delay by providing the correct bank details for payments, and providing a copy of a recent bank statement when you apply.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 26-01-21

Email from Cllr Dark

Dear all

Please find attached this week’s Covid-19 update. I hope you find it informative and useful. I have attached the slides from the QEH’s Member presentation earlier this week. The QEH are content for this information to be shared with Town and Parish Councils so I hope you find it helpful.

Key aspects I’d like to respectfully draw your attention to this week in it are:

The new telephone service and telephone number for families to call requiring information about people in the QEH and it’s hours of operation

The business grants team data I promised at Thursdays Full Council ( paid out 2110 separate grants to date totalling £2.44M since our moving up the Tiers in November) and the fact that now the lead agency (NHS/CCG) has publicly issued:

It will have all our Borough Residents who are over 65 and in a care home and all care home staff offered a first vaccination by tomorrow (Sunday 24th) - except those in a home with a recent outbreak

And

It is it’s full expectation that all over 80s in the Borough will have had their first vaccination offered by the end of this month (with teams now going out to get vaccines to those who due to mobility/illness can’t make it to the QEH or a PCN)

We are now at liberty to disclose this information, which puts our Borough at least two weeks before the national desired date for this to occur. If possible I would like your support in widely promoting this to reassure residents, who may not see this ‘big picture’ progress or are seeing slower headline East of England, or national rates.

Finally, whilst both vaccinations progress our key message, at least for the timing being,  to local residents has to be:

Stay home as much as possible, follow the guidance and let’s protect each other
